As per rankings based on parameters set by Department of Panchayat & Rural Development, Govt. of West Bengal, Burdwan district is first in inter district ranking in overall performance of NREGS in 2008-2009.
On the basis of % Persondays achieved as per Labour Budget (90.88) the rank is 2nd; in per Gram Panchayat expenditure (Rs. 52.14 lakh) the rank is 1st; in % of BPL families household provide employment, rank is 3rd; in % of generation of where persondays (35.06%) rank is 7th; in % of unskilled wage uploaded in MIS against MPR (38.8%) the rank is 5th, Second in rank is Bankura and third Jalpaiguri.
